Calendly hands people a link and lets them book you. If what you actually wanted was all of your calendars in one place, that is a different problem — and it is the one CalCollapse solves, by copying your Google calendars into an iCloud calendar you already have.
Two different jobs, one search term
“Calendly alternative” gets typed by people wanting two unrelated things. It is worth knowing which one you are before you read any further:
- A booking page.Publish your availability, let someone pick a slot, have the meeting appear on your calendar. That is what Calendly is, and CalCollapse is not an alternative to it — there is no scheduling link here and none planned. Google Calendar has appointment schedules built in if you need one for free.
- One calendar that finally shows everything.Work in one Google account, a side project in another, personal life on an iPhone, and no single view of any of it. People reach for a scheduling tool to fix this because it is the calendar product they have heard of. It is not what a scheduling tool is for. It is exactly what this is for.
Why the booking tool never quite fixed it
A scheduling tool avoids conflicts on the calendars you connected to it, and it does that well. What it cannot do is put those calendars in front of you. The events still live where they lived, so you still open two apps to answer “am I free on Thursday?” — and your phone’s lock screen, your Watch, and every app reading Apple’s calendar store keep showing one calendar’s worth of a life you are living across three.
The usual ways round that each give something up:
- Adding every Google account to iOS.The events arrive, but as their own accounts rather than as part of iCloud. Nothing you can share from iCloud, nothing you can hand to a family calendar, and setup to repeat on every device you own.
- An aggregating calendar app.Fantastical, Notion Calendar and the rest do show several accounts at once — inside themselves. The events are not in your iCloud calendar, so everything else on the Mac and the phone that reads Apple’s calendar store still cannot see them.
- Subscribing to a calendar’s secret iCal address.Apple refreshes a subscribed calendar on its own schedule, often well behind the meeting that just moved, and many Workspace domains disable external sharing outright. A subscription is also all or nothing: no filtering, and no choosing where it lands.
What CalCollapse does instead
Reads the Google calendars you pick
Connect one Google account or several, personal or Workspace. For each you choose which calendars to read; nothing you have not paired is ever touched.
Writes them into a calendar you already own
You choose an existing iCloud calendar as the destination. From then on Apple Calendar is showing your own iCloud data — on every device signed in to that Apple Account, with no per-device setup and nothing to configure on the Watch.
Goes one way, read-only, once an hour
The only Google permission asked for is reading your calendars, so nothing in Google can be changed by this app even in principle. Syncs run hourly and you can trigger one yourself; every run is logged with what it moved.
Nobody gets emailed
Copied events carry no scheduling properties, so iCloud cannot read one as an invitation and mail the people on it. Attendees are preserved as text in the description.
Or just the busy time, if you prefer
On the paid plan, a switch on each calendar pair reduces every event it syncs to a block of busy time — no title, no notes, no location, no video link, no attendees. Which is usually what makes a work calendar safe to put on a personal phone.
What it will not do for you. Because the sync runs one way, Google into iCloud, an event that exists only in iCloud stays invisible to the tools reading your Google calendar — including your booking page. This fixes the half of the problem where you cannot see everything, not the half where Calendly cannot.
Keeping Calendly, if you want it
Nothing here competes with a booking link, so nothing here asks you to give one up. Calendly reads and writes your Google calendar; CalCollapse reads Google and writes iCloud. A meeting somebody books through Calendly lands in Google like any other event and gets copied onward with everything else, an hour later at the latest.

This only identifies you. It grants no calendar access of any kind — that comes later, and separately.
Connect iCloud with an app-specific password
Generated at account.apple.com and revocable there at any time, without telling us. Apple offers no calendar-only credential to third parties, so this is the narrowest grant available.
Connect a Google account
Through Google’s own consent screen. The single permission asked for is reading your calendars; there is no box on that screen that would let us write to Google.
Pair a Google calendar with an iCloud one
Choose which calendar to read and which of your existing iCloud calendars its events should land in. The first sync runs immediately, and then hourly.
What it costs
One Google account and one calendar syncing into iCloud is free, which is enough if the scattering is only between one Google calendar and your phone. Connecting more accounts, or collapsing several calendars at once, needs the unlimited plan. Billing is handled by Stripe; card details never reach this app.
Questions
Is CalCollapse a Calendly alternative?
Not for booking links: there is no scheduling page here, and none is planned. It is an alternative for the other half of what people go looking for when they search that — the half where your commitments are spread across several calendars and no single app shows you all of them. CalCollapse copies your Google calendars into an iCloud calendar you already have, so one calendar holds everything.
So what does Calendly actually do that this does not?
It publishes your availability as a link, lets someone else pick a slot, and writes the resulting meeting to your calendar. That is a booking product, and it is a genuinely different job from moving events between calendars. If a booking page is what you need, keep one.
Can I use both?
Yes, and they do not interact. Calendly reads and writes your Google calendar; CalCollapse reads Google and writes into iCloud. Meetings booked through Calendly land in Google like any other event and get copied onward with the rest.
Will this stop a booking tool from double-booking me?
Only where the conflict is already visible to it. A booking tool can avoid conflicts on the calendars it has been connected to and no others, and CalCollapse syncs one way — Google into iCloud — so an event that exists only in iCloud stays invisible to it. What this fixes is the human half of the same problem: everything you have committed to, in one calendar, on the phone in your pocket.
I need a free booking page. What should I use?
Not this. Google Calendar has appointment schedules built in, which produces a bookable page from a calendar you already own, and there are several dedicated scheduling tools with free tiers. CalCollapse is worth adding once you have one and your calendars are still scattered.
Which calendars can it read, and where do the events go?
It reads Google calendars — personal accounts and Google Workspace accounts, as many of each as you like — and writes them into an iCloud calendar you choose from the ones you already have. It never creates, renames or deletes an iCloud calendar, and it only ever edits the events it wrote itself, so anything you added to that calendar by hand is invisible to it.
Does anything get written back to Google?
No. The only Google permission requested is read access to Calendar, so there is no capability to create, edit or delete anything there even in principle. Editing a synced event in Apple Calendar does not push to Google either; it is overwritten on the next run.
Will the people on my meetings be emailed anything?
